LéaLA 2025: The Nation’s Biggest Spanish Book Festival Returns to Downtown LA! (2)

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The nation's most ambitious celebration of Spanish-language books will return to Los Angeles next week.

LéaLA is a free, four-day festival featuring some of the biggest names in Spanish literature.

Thousands of festivalgoers are expected from Sept. 25-28 at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, where more than three dozen storytelling events and workshops will unfold.

Festival director Marisol Schulz Manaut said attendees will be just as diverse as the literature presented at this year's festival.

"It's open to everyone, not only Spanish-speaking people, but of course, people who want to learn a little bit more about our culture," Schulz said. "We want to provide fun, entertainment, and at the same time, culture."

Carrying a theme of "Let's Build Peace Together," Schulz hopes the festival encourages dialogue and harmony while providing access to harder-to-find titles.

"It's the best opportunity to buy books in Spanish, because, the rest of the year is not so easy to get children's books, not only children's books, but also other kinds of books, novels, history, Mexican history, Latin American history," Schulz said.

This year marks the festival's 10th edition, coinciding with the observation of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month.
